The Helen Keller Achievement Awards were established by the American Foundation for the Blind in 1994 to acknowledge extraordinary efforts and promote the achievements of individuals and organizations that have improved quality of life for all people with vision loss. Past awardees include business leaders from IBM, Cisco Systems, and Time Warner as well as giants from the performing arts including Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, and Patty Duke (see sidebar for complete list of past recipients).
