Are We Closer to a Cure?

Over the past 10 years, scientists have made substantial progress toward improving the quality of life for people living with neuromyelitis optica (NMO). Early diagnosis and treatment are critical factors that make a difference. Stopping attacks through prevention is at the forefront of NMO research. Immune suppressive treatments help reduce the number of attacks and more research is underway toward finding a cure for NMO. As more and more doctors are learning about NMO, the ability for NMO clinicians to keep more people healthy has never been better.
